Brazilian Rosewood Steel String Guitar
This guitar features beautiful Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides and a very old, wavy grained Douglas fir soundboard. The five piece neck is composed of Honduran mahogany, curly maple and cocobolo. The neck is 1.75″ wide at the nut and the bound ebony fretboard holds a 25.0″ scale. The rosette is made with a central ring of cocobolo surrounded by curly maple and ebony.
The body is 15 1/8″ wide in the lower bout and 4 1/8″ deep at the tail
Douglas fir is a greatly underappreciated tonewood. Coupled with the Brazilian rosewood back and sides, the projection and harmonic complexity of this instrument are second to none. The guitar has the warmth and responsiveness one usually only hears in an aged, well played instrument.
